I’m desperately trying to find a job for this summer. I know its really last minute. I already applied to about 10 jobs in my area on monsters jobs and career builder. I’m a Economics BA and finance minor. I will be a junior in the fall. Does anyone have any ideas for finding a job? My difficulty is that with where i’m at, i think an internship would be more appropriate. I’ve been applying to office assistant jobs. What are some job titles i should be looking at??? I was thinking of working in a bank but i only found a teller position open. Are there any other things i should try? I was thinking of trading stock more intensely to make some money. I really don’t want to have to resort to working at wal-mart or something.
I am currently doing an internship at the financial aid office at my campus and there will be an opening in the Fall for which they would like me to apply. They are also employing me part-time over the summer. I can’t say that I am very fond of this job from what I have learned thus far, but with the current state of the economy I can’t be too picky. So, would this be a good job to start out with? What is the typical salary? Thanks!

I know that those are the most lucrative majors and I’m just wondering what jobs would be best. Human resources, accountant, financial advisor? What job in either finance or business makes the most money and how much schooling does it take to get that job? Thanks!
I understand that there are exceptions to the rule, but, in general, do most employers look for applicants that have already completed their bachelors?
I’m looking to land an entry level position in finance or marketing.
I have recently graduated with BS degree in Finance. I don’t have any credit experience, so can someone please tell me what kind of entry jobs for advancing to credit analyst in the bank. I’m thinking to start as a Personal Banker in the bank, could I get promoted to credit analyst with Personal Banker experience?
www.northstarplanners.com Allen Giese, President of NorthStar Financial Planners shows us a few questions to ask BEFORE you hire that Financial Advisor Before you hire a financial advisor, you should NOT HOLD BACK- ask anything you want to know its your right to ask questions that may be hard! Ask what the advisor did in 2008 and 2009. What were their tactics? Did they try to avoid market losses? (Look for disciplined advisors who say, We stuck to our strategy; we knew we were in a tough time but we knew that the right long term approach was to stay fully invested). I was talking to my friend about what I want to do in the future. I told her I wanted to do something related to money or something with business without actually doing business; most likely law. She told me to go for corporate law or financial advisor, and told they are very excellent jobs.
So basically my question is…
Salary for financial advisors?
Salary for corporate lawyers
Job life for financial advisors (how many hours would I work if I plan on living in NYC?)
Job life for corporate lawyers (if I attended an good, maybe IVY LEAGUE law school and worked at a good law firm in NYC?)
Job outlook for financial adviosrs?
Job outlook for corporate lawyers?
BTW, I am a senior in high school (:
I’m halfway through my Bachelors and am considering a major in accounting -or- finance. I want to work and live in Germany, and was wondering if anyone could provide an overview of what the chances are for this, i.e. the need for workers with such skills, among other things.
As I write this, I’ve had no experience save for an Accounting 101 course-however, some of my current and future qualifications are:
* Upon graduation, I will have at least one full-time summer internship in the field of accounting completed
* I’ll have a GPA above 3.0 (nothing groundbreaking, I understand; this is merely the bare minimum)
* I’m fluent in Greek and have a firm grasp of intermediate level Mandarin
* I’m very near fluent in German, both in speech as well as in writing, and can communicate in all everyday situations with confidence
* I’ve spent a year in Germany and am very comfortable with the culture; I’m 100% willing to relocate
