Unless a person has to travel now and then for their type of work, many also tend to enjoy being able to save on things such as gas, work attire, drive time, or even with having to find a babysitter. Should I be a Financial Advisor or go back to Sales?

Posted by admin on April 28th, 2011 and filed under financial advisor jobs | 1 Comment »

I just graduated college in management with a minor in marketing and finance. I used to be in sales for a year or so. It was good money. Now, I am moving to Miami and I am thinking about working for a financial firm like Edward Jones and Merrill Lynch. However, my accounting and financing skills and knowledge are fair.

I always have extra money save up (a few grands now) and always interested in investing and owning assets to make more money. I was told that a financial advisor is the person you need to see for investing needs and future financial planning. For this reason, I want to start an entry-level job at one of these firm as a financial advisor and work my way up through the series 7 test and so on.

My best work is in sales, however, I find that I eventually become good at everything I do. My concern is that I may not be qualified as the financial advisor job and embarass myself at the interview seeing that I have fair to little financial experience/skills. So, should I go for it or go back into sales?

    Any opinions would be helpful…
