I applied online for the position and got asked to do a first round phone interview. I’ve done some research on it but I’m still confused about the pros/cons of the position and the company. How is the salary? How is the company environment? Is it a good place to start a career?

CharlesMontoya.NewCareerTeleSummit.com — Your salary is where the rubber meets the road. This is where all the effort really pays off because proper Salary negotiation can mean a world of difference. Say you decide wing it, and go into the pivotal, money-making round of the interview and neglect to negotiate even an extra 0 per week. 0 a week over a year equals 00 . multiply that over a 20 year career. and youve missed out on 6000. Thats more than a mortgage in most states. By understanding the significance of letting 0 slip through your fingers, you can now visualize how important strong salary negotiation-skills are to your earnings over a life time.
www.northstarplanners.com Another thing your broker isnt telling you is that the interests of HIS (or her) employer are coming first ahead of you! Brokers do not have to put your interests ahead of their own. They only have to sell you investments that are suitable, which says NOTHING about the cost to you. DOES THAT SEEM CRAZY? IT SHOULD! I just graduated college and have the opportunity to accept a position as a financial services rep with a reputable company. I was curious to hear from anyone who has worked in the financial services industry as to what the job will entail on a day to day basis and what type of salary can expect? Thanks!
Looking for a good corp. culture maybe Prudential or Met, etc. Not really a balls to the wall kinda atmosphere. Who gives the best leads? Who’s easiest to leave later on w/ your clients? What’s a decent (average) time until 150k+ salary? This is for a beginner in the industry but not the subject matter. I’m also trying to compare the time it takes to make 150k to a couple of other jobs. Thanks.

CharlesMontoya.NewCareerTeleSummit.com — Rule #1 in resume writing is There Are No Rules. The business of resume writing can be compared to an advertising agency for job-seekers. The products being sold are your skills, abilities, and potential to achieve the employers business objectives. Your job search is a personal-marketing campaign — and like any other business — there is no one single format to sell the skill-set you offer. Think about it, do the different car companies use the same format or message to sell their sports models, minivans, and SUVs? Does Coca-Cola try to do the same thing Pepsi is doing to sell their soft drinks? The answer is obviously No and thats why you shouldnt create a resume that is just like someone elses. The effectiveness of your resume is not how good it looks standing alone, but how strong it stands out from the other applicants. And since theres not ONE format or strategy everyone wants its up to you to overhaul the rules youve been using and stack them in your favor.
CharlesMontoya.NewCareerTeleSummit.com — New Career TeleSummit series begins with the topic of “Passion As A Job Search Tactic.” There are many thing we’re passionate about, but more often than not… our passion becomes unbalanced when it comes to the choices we make about where we work, what job we haave, and what we do while we’re there. Every day… many people are pushed out of an industry they’ve become comfortable with because of the current job market. Now is a good time to examine whether you’ve been making career decisions based on what is right for YOU. Take your plans off auto-pilot and shape your own future. Begin to reach for tomorrow… NOT by what you CAN’T DO… or WON’T HAVE… but by what you CAN DO… what you WILL HAVE… and what you need to do to get there. Most likely, it’s just a matter of putting one foot in front of the other.

I am currently doing an internship at the financial aid office at my campus and there will be an opening in the Fall for which they would like me to apply. They are also employing me part-time over the summer. I can’t say that I am very fond of this job from what I have learned thus far, but with the current state of the economy I can’t be too picky. So, would this be a good job to start out with? What is the typical salary? Thanks!

Ask what the advisor did in 2008 and 2009. What were their tactics? Did they try to avoid market losses? (Look for disciplined advisors who say, We stuck to our strategy; we knew we were in a tough time but we knew that the right long term approach was to stay fully invested). I was talking to my friend about what I want to do in the future. I told her I wanted to do something related to money or something with business without actually doing business; most likely law. She told me to go for corporate law or financial advisor, and told they are very excellent jobs.
So basically my question is…
Salary for financial advisors?
Salary for corporate lawyers
Job life for financial advisors (how many hours would I work if I plan on living in NYC?)
Job life for corporate lawyers (if I attended an good, maybe IVY LEAGUE law school and worked at a good law firm in NYC?)
Job outlook for financial adviosrs?
Job outlook for corporate lawyers?
BTW, I am a senior in high school (:
